International project European Theatre Showcase, realised since 2010 by Teatr Śląski, is second to none in the region – it not only introduces to Katowice the outstanding European theatre productions but thanks to its complex form has many accompanying events: round tables, discussions or exhibitions concerning different parts of Europe.
The event’s participants belong to the first league of the continent’s theatres, many of them being members of The Union of Theatres of Europe founded by Jack Lang (then French Minister of Culture) and Giorgio Strehler (cofounder and director of Piccolo Teatro di Milano). Its goal is to publicise international cultural and artistic values existing in theatre, the advancement of cooperation among theatres and artistic exchange, simultaneously respecting cultural identity and different tradition of each member.

Spectacle with Polish subtitles.
